This blog post is about my research project and how I feel about my progress. So far I have many ideas about what to write about and research. With my question I can go down different paths. The questions I am doing my project on is "What are the most dangerous male/female archetypes in American media?". Right now I am in the process of picking between two different archetypes for my project. I've been doing a lot of research on which cartoon or sitcom characters I can choose for the two archetypes I am looking at. One archetype is the fat, lazy and bad father like Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin and the other archetype is the bad child like Stewie Griffin from Family guy, Cartman from South Park and Bart Simpson from The Simpsons. I am actually having fun doing research for this project and I can't wait to see what my final paper will look like. With every draft of this paper I do I want to see my progress.

This blog post is about the class discussion we had about Miss Representation and The Mask You Live in. We analyzed both of them by identifying key words and information to start our upcoming research project. Miss Representation exposes how mainstream media and culture contribute treats women. The film draws back a curtain to reveal a glaring reality we live with everyday but fail to see how the media's limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls makes it difficult for women to feel powerful and achieve leadership positions. Society portrays women in negative ways everyday only to leave women trying to fix themselves, so they can look more beautiful. Everything on the internet, news, and social media is portraying women like a sex object for men. The last three words exemplify how a woman is strong in a world where they aren’t considered “perfect” and where they are only seen as a sex object instead of a powerful person. Women should be treated equal as men, they work and do the same thing but never gets the same respect or equal pay. As a guy the film made really upset because I truly think everybody should be equal in every aspect of life.
